Ekstraklasa is highest football league in Poland, formed by 16 clubs. Each season, one club plays 37 matches, first 30 matches are from 2 matcehs (home and away) against every other team from Ekstraklasa. Clubs are ranked in table according to points they won, goal difference and goals scored. After this top 8 clubs from end-season table enters in champions play-off rounds where each team play additional 7 matches. The winner of play-off round is champion of Poland and qualifies for UEFA Champion League. The clubs ranked from 2nd to 4th place in champion play-off are qualified for UEFA Europa League. In second play-off, named relegation play-off participate last 8 clubs from end-season table, also playing 7 matches and the lowest two ranked teams are relegated to lower division named I liga. Their sports in Ekstraklasa are taken from top 2 clubs from I liga.
