This is highest football league in Chile with 16 clubs in it. Each team plays 2 matches, one as host and one as guest against every other club in Primera Division for a total of 30 matches. Clubs are ranked in table according to points won, goal difference, matches won. Top 3 teams of the end season table are qualified for Copa Libertadores, clubs from 4th to 7th place are qualified for Copa Sudamericana. The last two club at the bottom of the table are relegated to lower football division Primera B and their spots are taken by top two teams from Primera B.
